bh2Senior Pastor: Rev. Billy Haines

Pastor Billy grew up in the small town of Milford, Delaware.  In 1999, he heard the Gospel for the first time at a youth retreat.  It was at the closing ceremonies for this retreat that he also met his future wife, Laura.  (It was a great weekend!)

Six months later he was a freshman at the University of Delaware where he got involved with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and also found a great church—Cornerstone! He was drawn to the church primarily because of the convicting, practical preaching and the vibrant community.

After graduating college, he married his college sweet heart and became an eighth grade science teacher at a local public school.  During this time he and Laura served as youth group volunteers at Cornerstone. Through experiences like this, he began to sense the Lord’s calling into vocational ministry and in response, enrolled as a part-time student at Westminster Seminary to prepare for whatever the Lord had in store. In 2007 he enrolled full-time at Biblical Theological Seminary and became a campus pastor with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of Delaware. He graduated seminary with an MDiv in 2010 and was ordained in the PCA in 2014.

Billy and Laura have three children and live in Newark, Delaware.

tmDirector of Family Ministries: Tim Malone

Tim grew in the best neighborhood in the world in a small development in Ellicott City, MD. He has and always will love sports of all kinds, especially those played in the backyard. Tim graduated from Towson University with a degree in Physical Education, and taught school for several years before accepting a full-time calling in ministry with Cornerstone in 2002. Tim married up, to the incredible Julie Dallwig, and they have four amazing, beautiful and sometimes silly daughters. Tim also has a MA degree from Westminster Seminary in Biblical Counseling. He enjoys working with the teens and people at Cornerstone, struggling together to love God and love others!

je3Administrative Assistant:  Joy Evans

I have been attending Cornerstone since the early days when the Church was held in the school room in Kemblesville and then at “The Barn”. Both my husband, Ed, and I became members in March of 2005. I started working at Cornerstone 3 days a week as an Administrative Assistant in February 2010. I love working here and could not ask for a better staff to work with and to interact with the many people of Cornerstone which is very uplifting, as well as serving in several ministries.

My first love is for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, which grows with each passing year, and I pray that He will continue to grow me stronger – in my faith and in my love for Him. The loves of my life on earth are my family: my husband Ed, my 2 grown children and my precious 8 grandchildren! I also heartily enjoy one ‘adopted’ granddaughter. My passionate hobby is Arabian horses, which I enjoy on a little farm in Landenberg, PA and love to teach riding, especially to children and teens. I also love music, i.e. old gospels, hymns & praise songs.

I have lived a full life by the grace of God and am thankful and grateful for all the blessings He has given me!

dj2Administrative Assistant: Danica Jarrell

Born in Baltimore, MD and lived there with my parents, Joe and Betty Dudzinsky, until age 9. Moved to Columbus, OH for less than two years and then moved to Hockessin, DE. Heard the gospel through Young Life and gave my life to the Lord at camp the summer after my Freshman year of high school. Met my husband, Ralph Jarrell, through Young Life and we were married October 21st, 2001. We have been blessed with three children – Annabelle (10), Gavin (8), and Emma (4). I have been attending Cornerstone since 1999 and became a member in 2001. My husband and I have led a Home Group together for 15 years. I began working in the church office in February of 2010.  I love working here at Cornerstone!

lh2Nursery Coordinator: Laura Saavedra Hubbard

Originally from Bowie, Maryland, Laura spent 7 years in Memphis working with Young Life, involved in her home church with youth groups and singles ministry. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biblical Studies from Crichton College (formerly Mid South Bible College) in 1991. Laura then served faithfully for 3 years in Arequipa Peru with SIM (formerly Sudan Interior Missions) until the Lord brought her home to Maryland in 1996. She returned to Memphis in 1998 where her background as an Executive Assistant for international corporations was key in helping her church organize and open a Daycare ministry where she served as Director for 18 months. Laura has several years experience as a Pre-K assistant in special needs class and most recently an elementary substitute teacher before moving to Pennsylvania from Maryland in 2013. Laura is married to Jon Hubbard and together they are raising their three children, Elias, Christian and Patricia.

Children’s Ministry Coordinator: Jen Smith

Jen is fortunate to have grown up in a Christian home and cannot remember a day when she did not know Jesus. Even though she made a profession of faith at a young age, it was not until attending college at the University of Delaware, that her faith deepened and became her own. She also met her husband, Kevin, at UD. After graduation, she attended Penn State University and earned a Masters of Education in Secondary School Counseling. She worked as a guidance counselor at Kennett High School until their first child, Maddie was born.  Since that point, she has been a stay at home, homeschooling mom to four wonderful children: Maddie (18), Marshall (16), Morgan (14) and Mitchell (12).

Jen and her family have been attending Cornerstone since the fall of 2013. She loves Christ’s church and ministering to the families at Cornerstone. She’s also a huge fan of all things Pittsburgh, especially the Pirates!

Pastoral Intern: Dan Smith Jr.

Dan grew up in a wonderful Christian home and accepted his Lord and Savior at a young age. He attended Bethany Christian School throughout elementary school, and graduated from PaCyber Charter School. Upon high school graduation, Dan attended Delaware County Community College in 2012, but felt a calling to pursue Christian education in which he transferred to Lancaster Bible College, where he graduated in 2016 with a BA in Student Ministry and Biblical Studies. Throughout his time in college, Dan has faithfully served Cornerstone as a youth group volunteer, youth intern, Director of Junior High Youth Ministries for a summer, and is currently serving as the Cornerstone Pastoral Intern.
